Take a school trip to Kyoto and meet international students
We offer an exclusive chance for students in Japan to introduce the beautiful city of Kyoto to international students from around the world. Choose from two plans both with plenty of opportunities to practice English and to make connections with people from overseas too.
DAY TRIP PLAN
The day trip plan is ideal for schools based in the Kansai area but can also be great for those school who want to have one day of a school trip with a focus on English communication. The main lectures will be conducted by our top rated tour guides who are also English teachers. In the afternoon the students get the chance to guide international students around the city on a short tour.
8:30am Meet at Keage Station on the Kyoto Subway Tozai Line and walk (5min) to the Kyoto International Community House
9:00am-11:00am Join a series of lectures on how to introduce famous sites in Kyoto in English (in large hall) 100-150 students max
11:00-12:00 Practice role plays in smaller groups (5-8 students)
12:00-13:00 Break for lunch
13:00-16:00 Meet with international students in small groups (5-8 students) and take them on a short tour of the East side of Kyoto (ex. Ginkakuji, Nanzenji and Heian Shrine)
OVERNIGHT PLAN
The overnight plan gives students more time on day one to practice the language they need to use when guiding. They will have more time in a classroom setting as well as a chance to see a tour led by a professional tour guide. Then on day two they can have more confidence when they guide the international student assigned to their group.
DAY ONE
8:30am Meet at Keage Station on the Kyoto Subway Tozai Line and walk (5min) to the Kyoto International Community House
9:00-12:00 Join a series of lessons in groups (12-15 students/class)
12:00-1:00 Break for lunch
14:00-16:00 Go on a tour of Kyoto by your teacher (and guide) as an example
DAY TWO
8:30-10:30 Review of previous days classes & practice role plays
10:30-14:30 Take an international student on a tour of Kyoto in small groups (5-8 students/group)
(choose 2-3 famous places to introduce)
14:30-16:00 Report on the success of the mission and receive a "Level 1 Tour Guide" certificate.
Price plans start from 10,000/student per day.
