Day Trip to Nara

Take a day trip to the magical city of Nara, a place with a wealth of beauty both historic and natural. We meet at Kyoto Station but before long we are on a Limited Express train with reserved seating headed to the ancient capital. Just a short walk from the station is the Todaiji Temple where you can see the largest bronze statue of the buddha in the world! Enjoy a 1-2 hr stroll through Nara park where you can admire the sacred dear roaming the fields. This will be followed by a delicious lunch. After lunch we can enjoy discovering the beautiful old town of the Naramachi neighbourhood. Visit small temples and shrines or take part in some local activities and/or craftsmanship Then it's back on the Limited Express train with reserved seating with an arrival just after 4 pm back in Kyoto city. Day Trip to Himeji

Himeji city is home to one of the most beautiful castles in the world, the UNESCO World Heritage Himeji Castle. It is not to be missed! On this day tour, we depart Kyoto at 8 am and arrive at Himeji Station just after 9 am. From here it's a short walk to Himeji castle and the surrounding gardens of Nishi no Maru and Koko-en where will will spend the morning exploring the grounds and giving you a background into the history. Then we will stop for a delicious lunch in the town centre. In the afternoon we will travel to the Mount Shosha ropeway and explore the Shoshazan Engyoji temple grounds made famous in the movie The Last Samurai. Then it's back to the station where we will catch a train around 4 - 5 pm headed back to Kyoto. Day Trip to Hiroshima

We get started early on this one day trip to Hiroshima. Meeting at Kyoto Station at 7:30 am we will give you time to get a coffee and a little something to eat for the 1.5 hr journey to Hiroshima. A bullet train ride to Hiroshima and by 10:00 am we will be in the Peace Memorial Park which is home to several monuments including the iconic Atomic Bomb dome. After taking you through this place and giving you some of the background on the fateful history, we will have lunch in the city, after lunch we have a little time for you to explore the Peace Museum. After that we take a speedy ferry ride from the Peace Park to Miyajima island. This island is the perfect tonic after what will be an emotional morning. On the island we can see the sacred deer roaming the streets. We can also get a view of the amazing torii gate which appears to be floating in the water at high tide. After a stroll around the shrine and the nearby shops and food stalls, we will make our way back to Hiroshima city centre where we will jump on a train back to Kyoto arriving back in the city around 8 pm. For those who want to stay the night we conclude the tour at Hiroshima Station around 6pm.
