WEST SIDE ROUTE
Kitano-tenmangu an ancient shrine →Kinkakuji the "Golden Pavilion" → Ryoan-ji the most famous rock garden in Japan

Three spectacular sights are all well worth the visit with a real variety to each stop. From an ancient shrine with a spooky past, to one of the "must sees" of Kyoto the Golden Pavilion and finally a world famous rock and sand garden at Ryoanji Temple.

EAST SIDE ROUTE

Ginkakuji the "Silver" Pavilion → the Path of Philosophy → Nanzen-ji temple grounds → Heian Shrine's spectacular garden

The route with an abundance of nature and in the lesser crowded North-East of the city hugging the eastern hills. We weave along beautiful streets but also stop at one of the most beautiful zen gardens at Ginkakuji among other places of beauty.
