We start the tour at the Nishiki market, a place recently celebrating it's 400th anniversary and the heart of Kyoto's culinary scene. We then take you on a stroll through this famous market and point out some interesting shops and places for you to nibble on some street food sampling some of the local specialties. There are also a lot of interesting shops along the way such as a famous kitchenware shop selling the world famous Japanese knives. During this time, we will share with you some of our local knowledge and teach you the basics about Japanese cooking. Samples are not included in the price so you can really go nuts if you want or just just take the pictures of your friend eating the octopus! 

After our stroll through the markets with a few samples along the way, we have the choice of either heading straight into Gion for an evening walking tour, or stopping for dinner before heading back out for more adventure. Either way, we will give you a relaxing, informative and fun time for you and those dearest to you. We can arrange a special meal and pick you up after you have enjoyed your meal, or you can invite your guide along and get some help with the menu as well as insights into Japanese dining culture. 

The Gion Night Walk takes you through the geisha neighbourhoods with the lantern light flickering on the quiet streets. We also visit a shinto shrine or two and a zen temple grounds. Let us take you on a special evening of discovery with your fun and friendly guide.
