Thanks for booking a Gion Night Walk with us!
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Kyoto for an evening stroll through the most beautiful part of Kyoto. We will take you to see some of the most picturesque streets of the Gion district and the Higashiyama district and enjoy the beauty of the city at night. The tour takes around 2hrs to complete and includes around 5km of walking. We finish the tour in an area with plenty of restaurants too.
As of January 2024, we have opened a traveler lounge for our customers. Feel free to arrive 10 mins before the start of the tour and enjoy a complimentary welcome drink, use the restroom or charge up your phone. maps.app.goo.gl/FGzZWa8UjSC5dDpW8
We are located about a 10min walk from Shijo Bridge and right in the heart of the Miyagawacho geisha district.
We start the tour on time with a brief 15 minute slideshow introducing the world of the geisha and maiko. Then we head out for the walking tour.
We will discover Gion and Higashiyama on foot on a walk along cobble stoned streets passing the tea houses, bars and clubs of the area as they begin to come to life. If we are lucky you might see a Geisha or Maiko on their way to an early appointment. We also take a stroll through a couple of shinto shrines and one zen temple grounds where we can briefly chat about how those faiths affect daily life in Japan.
Customers arriving after the tour has departed will not be refunded. We cannot answer the phone during the tour to give directions either as it impacts on the experience for the customers who have arrived on time. Please research your route in advance and arrive with plenty of time so that you can enjoy the tour without any stress.
