Kyoto's East Gems Walking Tour

One of the best tour guides in Kyoto! The early bird Kyoto tour is an excellent idea especially in a city full of history and a tourist magnet! We also did the discovery of geisha tour! Oh my!! It was definitely the icing on the cake of our trip! Thank you Niall for showing us Kyoto! I had so much fun and one of the best travel experiences I had.

BEN ROCKED! My friend and I loved our East Kyoto bicycle day!! Our guide Ben was super duper FANTASTIC! He was able to convert the history of the places we visited into our historical or cultural references which made it very understandable. The cycling was more enjoyable than anticipated, so that helped add to a truly otherworldly day.

Thoroughly enjoyed the walking tour. A massive thanks to Kevin (from Canada) who was very knowledgeable and a very patient and understanding tour guide. A lot of very interesting facts and history were shared and some very beautiful and iconic places in Kyoto were visited. I very much enjoyed it and would recommend to anyone. We went straight after dinner and it was a great way to walk it off.

This excellent, private tour started at dawn from the easily accessed train station opposite Fushimi Inari. From there our friendly guide Milo introduced us to Fushimi Inari & Kiyomizu temples - before the hordes of tour groups arrived. He managed the logistics & provided excellent information. This delightful private tour ended at a tiny, outdoor coffee shop - optional coffee - it was excellent!

We had a fabulous time on our e-bike tour with Kevin. He helped plan a route that kept us out of the huge crowded areas yet covered many wonderful attractions. We enjoyed riding on and around the Philosopher's Path, exploring some of the most beautiful gardens in the world and sacred temples while learning the history and traditions behind what we were seeing.

We did two private tours in Kyoto with Kyoto Fun - both were fantastic! Kevin B. took us for a 6 hour tour in the west part of the city. He was a lot of fun and gave us great information. Two days later, we did the early bird tour with Shanda. This tour was about 3 hours long and she was an excellent guide, so full of knowledge about the beautiful shrines and temples we saw. We highly recommend them and the private tours - you get to see so much of the city!

We wanted an introduction to Kyoto’s Geisha district and history so booked onto this tour. Although it was one of the later starts (8pm) it meant the city was beginning to quieten down and we had many of the sights to ourselves. Our guide Kevin was really knowledgeable about Kyoto and clearly loves the city which made it a really enjoyable experience to do the tour with him.!
